1. What are the reception opening hours?
Mon to Friday – 9.30 am to 7 pm Sat – 10 am to 6 pm Sunday – CLOSED 2. Arrivals and departures? Keys can be collected between 11 am and 12 am. Keys must be handed in by 10am on day of departure 3. How do I get to the village from Cork Airport? Every hour there is a bus to the city centre. Taxi fare is approximately €15 4. Do I need to bring my own bed clothes? Yes, you must bring your own pillow and bed linen. Mattress covers are provided. 5. Do I get a key for entrance to apartment? On arrival you will be given one key…. This allows access to your block, apartment and your bedroom only. If you lose your key the cost of replacement is €20. 6. Is there a telephone in the apartment? There is a telephone in the hallway of each apartment. Only call cards purchased at reception can be used. 7. Is the apartment furnished? Apartments are fitted with: fridge, freezer, microwave, cooker/hob, digital tv/dvd, kettle and toaster, vacuum cleaner, dishwashers (in some apts), crockery cutlery and utensils. Iron and ironing board. 8. Do I need to sign a contract? Yes, the minimum stay at The Village is 4 weeks. If you leave before departure date given you must pay rent up to this date. 9. Do the tenants clean the apartment? Yes, the apartments will be inspected on a weekly basis. Cleaning materials are to be provided by the tenants. Hoover bags, light bulbs, batteries for tv remotes are provided free of charge at reception. 10. Is it possible to arrive on a weekday? Normally, arrivals are on Saturday. The rental week commences on a Saturday. Should a tenant arrive on a weekday, they will be charged nightly rate. Standard room – nightly rate is €9 per night Ensuite room – nightly rate – one person – €10 per night Ensuite room – nightly rate – two people – €17 per night 11. Is it possible for friends to live in the same apartment? Where possible, we try to place friends together. Please note that this is a preference only, and not a guarantee. 12. Are there car parking facilities? Car parking is provided free of charge. 13. Is smoking allowed in the apartments? No, this is a non smoking complex. 14. Are all bedrooms ensuite? Most of the apartments at Village are 5 and 6 bedded. The 6 bed apartments consist of 6 standard bedrooms (no adjoining bathroom). Each bedroom contains single bed, desk, wardrobe, notice board. There are 2 main bathrooms with toilet and shower. The 5 bed apartments consist of 1 ensuite room and 4 standard rooms. There is 1 main bathroom with shower and toilet and one other toilet. 15. How do I get to the city center from the village? There is a bus stop around the corner. The No 8 passes by about every 10 mins. Walking to the city takes about 20 minutes. 16. How far is the university? About 5 minutes walk. 17. Are pets allowed? There are no pets allowed on the premises. 18. Do the apartments have washing machines? No. We have a laundry room on the complex, with washing and drying machines. Tokens may be purchased at reception €3 for wash and €2 for dry. OPEN 24 HOURS. 19. Are twin rooms available? No, only standard or ensuite rooms. 20. Is there a doctors surgery nearby? About 10 minutes walk. The Medi Centre, Wilton Rd., Tel 021 4345679 21. Is there a shop on the complex? No. There is a supermarket… just 2 minutes walk. 22. Is there security at the village? Yes, there are residential wardens located at Apt no 25 There is 24 hour security and CCTV in operation. |
